“r12 – this was certainly a journey that grew our personal relationship with God’’

NG Wilgespruit, a church with a weekly congregation size of 900, situated in Wilro Park (Roodepoort, Gauteng) ran the Romans 12 (r12) Church Campaign during the first quarter of 2012.

Pieter van der Merwe, the r12 Campaign Director at the church reports:

“The greatest success of r12 for our congregation resides in the impact of the campaign – it was a truly spiritual enrichment.

We were able to attract approximately 200 non-active church members to attend the r12 campaign. There was also a definite increase in cell group membership as a result of the campaign, with testimonies of a number of new salvations within these home cell group meetings.

The campaign touched everyone on a personal level. The measure of its success is evident in the rich growth that we have experienced among members of our congregation. This was certainly a journey that grew our personal relationship with God.”

The r12 Church Campaign provides a pathway to help believers become more like Jesus everyday through an approach that is…

Biblical – by going through a verse by verse ‘unpacking’ of Romans 12

Relational (not rule keeping)

Grace-based (not performance-oriented)

Faith focused (not trying harder)

Practical (not simply the ideal) and

Measurable

The r12 campaign also provides a church-wide focus on one key theme each week, which is reinforced several times during the week through r12 themed messages for weekend services, small group studies, a daily devotional and r12 online.

(r12 is ook in Afrikaans beskikbaar.)
